Day three ...

Hello, Ginger here again.

Today started out rough (some of Jeremy's meds were held when he first was admitted Saturday morning and he was starting to feel the effects of that today as they were out of his system) but is getting better.

Jeremy had an ultra sound of his liver, gal bladder, pancreas and right kidney this morning.  When Dr. Wessling was doing rounds the results weren't in yet. We did discuss Jeremy's health and he agreed with me that Jeremy's pancreatitis is probably related to his triglycerides, not the meds that were held the last few days so those were restarted. We also talked about a few other related things and he left to do the paperwork to get the meds in the computer. A few minutes after leaving he was back again and we talked some more about the new med that Jeremy started a couple months ago. It's bydurion, it's only taken once a week and he's due for it Tuesday. I had asked that he make sure that we get it in the computer because if that gets out of his system it's very uncomfortable restarting it.  Anyway ... bydurion can cause pancreatitis and if a person has had pancreatitis it's not recommended that he take it. So we've pretty much figured out what has caused the pancreatitis.  Now just have to let the pancreas rest and heal up.  Dr. Wessling did clear Jeremy to start clear liquids so Jeremy enjoyed a brunch of chicken broth, orange jello and apple juice.  The first food he's been able to keep down since Thursday.

So Dad is coming sometime today to bring Mom home. She has to cook tomorrow and is supposed to be home getting the house ready for when Cari, Jason & the kids come up Thursday. Hopefully we'll be back in time to visit with them at some point. They're not leaving until Tuesday, so hopefully we'll get to see them.

Okay, more tomorrow!
