Hazardous weather...
* a steady west to northwest flow of very cold Arctic air will
cause wind chills to fall to as low as 15 to 30 below zero
today.
* As the core of the extremely cold air mass moves overhead on
Monday...wind chills late tonight through Tuesday morning will
fall to as low as 35 to 50 below zero.
Impacts...
* with wind chills as low as expected through Tuesday...you will
suffer frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 5 to 15 minutes.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
* you should prepare now for the intense cold expected early this
week...and avoid prolonged exposure outdoors once the extreme cold
arrives. If you do need to venture out...wear layers of clothing
and cover your head and hands to avoid heat loss. If you must
