 Lake Effect Snow Watch 


... Lake effect snow watch in effect from Saturday afternoon
through Sunday evening... 

The National Weather Service in Marquette has issued a lake
effect snow watch... which is in effect from Saturday afternoon
through Sunday evening. 

Hazardous weather... 

* moderate to heavy snow showers may produce 8 inches or more of
   snow from Saturday afternoon through Sunday. The heaviest snow
   will fall in areas favored by northwest winds off Lake Superior.

* Gusty winds may lead to blowing and drifting snow... especially
   near Lake Superior.

Impacts... 

* roads may become snow covered and slippery.

* Heavy snow and gusty winds may lead to significant reductions in
   visibility... especially near Lake Superior.

Precautionary/preparedness actions... 

* a lake effect snow watch means there is a potential for a
   large amount of snow in only a few hours.
