Lake Effect Snow Watch

... Lake effect snow watch in effect from late Wednesday night
through late Friday night...

The National Weather Service in Marquette has issued a lake
effect snow watch... which is in effect from late Wednesday night
through late Friday night.

Hazardous weather...

* lake effect snow is expected to intensify on Wednesday night and
   continue over west to west-northwest wind favored locations
   through Friday night.

* Moderate to heavy snow fall is possible. Total snowfall
   accumulations may exceed a foot over the higher terrain from
   Rockland to Calumet.

Impacts...

* roads may become snow covered and slippery.

* Gusty winds on Thursday may cause blowing and drifting snow.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

* a lake effect snow watch means there is a potential for a large
   amount of snow in only a few hours.
