 Lake Effect Snow Warning 

... Lake effect snow warning remains in effect until 7 PM ESTFriday... 


Hazardous weather... 


* expect scattered snow showers to become more widespread this   morning..and then continue heavy at times into Friday for the   west wind favored snowbelts.


* Moderate to heavy snowfall is expected over mainly the north half   of Ontonagon and Houghton counties. Total snowfall accumulations   may exceed a foot over higher terrain... from The Porcupine   mountains east to Ontonagon and Twin Lakes... and then north to   Painesdale and Houghton. No more than an inch of snow will   accumulate along and south of M-28 from Bruce Crossing to Paulding   in far southern Ontonagon County.


Impacts... 


* roads will become snow covered and slippery.


* Gusty winds into tonight will cause blowing and drifting   snow... with visibility frequently reduced to one quarter mile or   less in locations exposed to the strong west winds.


Precautionary/preparedness actions... 


* a lake effect snow warning means significant amounts of lake    effect snow are forecast that will make travel very    hazardous.
