Lake Effect Snow Advisory

... Lake effect Snow Advisory now in effect from 4 am EST /3 am
CST/ to 1 PM EST /noon CST/ Tuesday...

Hazardous weather...

* expect gusty northwest winds up to 45 mph and numerous snow
   showers to develop by sunrise Tuesday. These strong winds will
   slowly diminish in the afternoon. The gusty winds will cause areas
   of blowing and drifting snow with reduced visibility.

* Plan on 1 to 4 inches of snow on Tuesday. The heaviest snow will
   be in the morning. The greatest amounts are likely over the higher
   terrain of the Gogebic Range and The Spine of the Keweenaw
   peninsula from Ironwood to Bergland... Rockland... Donken... Houghton
   and Phoenix. The lake effect snow showers will diminish in
   intensity Tuesday afternoon.

Impacts...

* snow covered and slippery roads.

* Visibilities reduced to less than one half mile at times...
   especially in open areas.

* Rapid changes in visibility near the lake effect snow bands.
