 Winter Storm Warning 

... Winter Storm Warning in effect from 1 PM EST /noon CST/ this
afternoon to 7 am EST /6 am CST/ Sunday...

The National Weather Service in Marquette has issued a Winter
Storm Warning for heavy snow... which is in effect from 1 PM EST
/noon CST/ this afternoon to 7 am EST /6 am CST/ Sunday. The Winter
Weather Advisory is no longer in effect.

Hazardous weather...

* wet... heavy snow will move into western Upper Michigan this
   afternoon before diminishing in intensity late tonight.

* Snow will fall heavily at times... reducing visibilities to a
   quarter mile or less.

* Expect total snowfall accumulations of 4 to 8 inches with the
   greatest amounts in the higher terrain from Ironwood and Wakefield to
   Bergland and The Porcupine mountains.

Impacts...

* snow will make for slick roadways... making driving difficult
   at times.

* The wet... heavy nature of the snow may cause sporadic power
   outages.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

* a Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather
   conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of snow
   are forecast that will make travel dangerous.
