There isn't much going on here. Ginger has two days off. Last night and tonight. We've got plans to go grocery shopping this morning. We just bought a new printer. Our printer that we bought six months ago just up and stopped working. I should have registered it and then we could have had it fixed. Live and learn. Gins been printing coupons like a mad woman. She's happy again. She really likes coupons and has a blast collecting them.

I'm buying a new HT next week. It's a duel band HT. There's a few 2 meter 440 repeaters in the area. They aren't very active but I'm thinking if I throw my call sign out there someone should come back to me. That's my hope anyway. The radio is 60 bux which is a decent price. I asked a few of my ham buddies if it was a good radio and they said it's not the best radio but it would do me ok. So now all I have to do is go take the test and then I'll be a ham operator. I'm very excited about it.

We've got some rough weather headed our way.

High Wind Watch, Dense Fog Advisory
... Dense fog advisory in effect until 11 am EDT this morning...
... High wind watch in effect from Thursday afternoon through
Friday morning...

The National Weather Service in Marquette has issued a dense fog
advisory... which is in effect until 11 am EDT this morning. A
high wind watch has also been issued. This high wind watch is in
effect from Thursday afternoon through Friday morning.

Hazardous weather this morning...

* widespread dense fog will reduce visibilities to one-quarter mile
or less through 11 am this morning.

Hazardous weather Thursday afternoon and Thursday night...

* north winds of 30 to 40 mph with gusts to 60 mph are possible late
   Thursday afternoon into Thursday night.

* The winds will decrease Friday morning.

Impacts...

* widespread dense fog this morning will make driving difficult.

* High winds on Thursday night could cause downed trees and power
lines... as well as some power outages.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

* a dense fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be
reduced to less than one quarter mile. If driving... slow
down... use your low-beam headlights... and leave plenty of
braking distance for vehicles or objects ahead of you.

* A high wind watch means there is the potential for a hazardous
high wind event. Sustained winds of at least 40 mph... or gusts of
58 mph or stronger may occur. Continue to monitor the latest
   forecasts.
