This is Ginger ~
I'll be updating Jeremy's blog while he's in the hospital.
Yesturday morning, Tuesday we arrrived for the EKG, TEE & Catherization. After the Catherization the cardiologists decided that they were going to admit him and prep him for surgery. He's still in the process of being prepped for surgery. He has a catherization in his neck going into his chest. It is measuring the pulmonary pressure, which needs to go down before he can have surgery. It has already gone down enough in the last 12 hours for them to schedule valve replacement surgery for early tomorrow morning. He had his last solid meal before surgery for breakfast, oatmeal, bananna muffin and juice. It's going to be liquids here on out. They are also trying to get water weight off of him. Over night he's already lost 8 pounds of water. He's having a hard time not being able to drink fluids. It's not uncommon for him to drink two 2 liters of sugar free kool aid a day. They are limiting him he's getting enough so that he's not dehydrated but nothing more than that.
This place has been very good to us. I'm using the computer at the Cardiac ICU waiting room. I've also been able to make out going calls, calling Mom and work, etc.
It's sort of funny / wierd b/c I'm wearing scrubs b/c that's the most comfortable clothes I have. When I go down to the cafeteria they give me the discount, they think I work here. The nurse last night told me to tell them that I'm an Asprius employee and I'd get the discount, haven't had to yet.
Okay, I'm going to go back and be with Jeremy. Just thought that I'd update everyone on what's going on.
After surgery I will be staying with my Grandma who lives about an hour from here. If things get too hairy I can sleep here in the CICU waiting room, they have two rooms here that can be used as bedrooms. Won't do that unless it's an emergency though, save that for those who need it worse than me.
