Ok an update. I've rebuilt and reinstalled Windows on the old computer and rebuilt another computer for Ginger running Ubuntu Linux. I've got no idea what happened to the new computer. I think rather than spending a bunch of money right now I'm going to wait until next spring to build a new computer. I'm just happy I have my flight sim back.
