I finally did it. I am away from the Microsoft scene. I am now running Linux (pronounced Leenux) as my full time operating system for my computer. I am however keeping a 2nd hard drive and that has Windows XP Pro installed as a back up. I've been testing and learning Ubuntu Linux for about 3 months now and finally feel very comfortable using it. What I like best about Linux is that I don't have to run antivirus and firewall software oh and it's free. All of the software I use is free and opensource so I can change and write my own software anytime I feel like. I'm not going to install Linux on Gingers computer because she is used to and likes Windows XP. I will have to continue to up keep her computer though. In Janurary we are also going to be upgrading our internet connection. We're currently running 384 DSL and we'll upgrade to 10 meg from Charter Cable which will actually save us about 100 dollars a month. We'll shut the phone off and go with Vonage with a downstate number because Vonage doesn't offer a 906 number yet so all of our communications needs will come from the cable. TV, internet and phone all on one line. Yeehaa! I think we might be finally coming into the 21'st century up here.

Gingers not feeling good today. She's still in bed. Now that She's upfront and dealing with so many people everyday she just keeps bringing home colds. I feel so bad for her. I don't care if I'm sick but I hate it when she gets sick because she just can't stay home until she feels better. There's a real nasty cold going around right now. I sure hope this isn't what Gins got.
